BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Brunei on Wednesday barred all Boeing 737 MAX 8 type aircraft from flying over its airspace following the crash of a similar jetliner in Ethiopia.

According to a press release from the Brunei government, referring to the recent two fatal international aircraft accidents involving the Boeing 737 Max 8 in less than five months, the Department of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Transport and Info-communications informed and assured the public that none of these aircraft types are registered in Brunei.

The Department of Civil Aviation has also issued a Flight Operation Directive to suspend temporarily any Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft from operating to and from Brunei International Airport including transiting flights.

More and more countries have joined the list of closing airspace after the crash on Sunday of a Boeing 737 Max 8 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, leaving all 157 people aboard dead.
