JAKARTA, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Creative economy sector was targeted to contribute some 1,211 trillion rupiah (about 83.5 billion U.S. dollars) to the nation's GDP next year, higher than the previous years, an Indonesian official said on Tuesday.

The creative economy sector has apparently grown in the last few years with 1,000 trillion rupiah (about 68.8 billion U.S. dollars) was recorded in 2017, expected to reach 1,105 trillion rupiah (about 76.1 billion U.S. dollars) this year, said Triawan Munaf, head of Indonesia's Agency for Creative Economy (Bekraf).

Culinary, fashion and handicraft were three of a total 16 sub sectors, dominating national creative economy at present, he said.

He added that music, cinema and games applications were three most-expected sub sectors to grow substantially next year.

Movie industry has started to significantly vibrate with rising contribution of 10 percent in the creative economy, Triawan said.

He expected that the government's economic reform move to exclude arts and movie making-related sector from negative investment list would attract foreign investors in the cinema and movie making business in the country.
