THE HAGUE, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Reigning Eredivisie champion PSV Eindhoven fell 2-0 at home to Telstar, while Feyenoord moved top after NEC suffered its first defeat of the season.

PSV had opened the campaign with three straight wins but was second-best from the start on Saturday, with Telstar pressing aggressively and creating danger. Tyrone Owusu broke the deadlock in the 21st minute with a curling strike from outside the box, and Patrick Brouwer doubled the lead in the 65th.

The result gave Telstar its first win of the season and its first victory at PSV since 1968. The Velsen-Zuid side, from north Holland, is playing in the top flight for the first time since 1978.

On Sunday, Feyenoord beat Sparta 4-0 in the Rotterdam derby. Sparta captain Bruno Martins Indi was sent off in the 49th minute, but Feyenoord had already gone 2-0 up through Jordan Bos and Ayase Ueda. Ueda added a second goal in the 65th, and Quinten Timber completed the scoring in stoppage time.

Former league leader NEC slipped to a 3-2 defeat at Fortuna Sittard, where Paul Gladon scored the winner for the hosts.

Last season's runner-up Ajax was held 1-1 at FC Volendam on Saturday. Henk Veerman fired the home side in front with a shot into the top corner, before Japanese defender Ko Itakura equalized from close range in the 61st minute.

With nine points from three matches, Feyenoord sits atop the table as the only team still perfect. NEC follows with nine points from four games, ahead of FC Utrecht and PSV. Ajax is fifth on eight points from four matches. ■
