BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Boca Juniors continued to recover from a record slump on Sunday with a 2-0 away win over Aldosivi in Argentina's Primera Division Clausura tournament.
Lautaro Di Lollo opened the scoring just before halftime, latching onto Carlos Palacios' cross with a glancing header that beat goalkeeper Jorge Carranza at his near post.
Rodrigo Battaglia doubled the lead 10 minutes from time with a bullet header after Leandro Paredes' delivery from a corner.
The result marked Boca's third straight victory following a 12-game winless streak across all competitions - the worst in the club's history.
"We are getting better with every match and results like this elevate us," Boca manager Miguel Angel Russo told a post-match news conference.
"We've been working very hard as a group and that's how we plan to continue so that we can always get the best out of ourselves. This is a competitive squad and it's hard to pick a starting lineup, which is how it should be."
Boca now has 12 points in the 15-team Group A, two points fewer than leader Barracas Central, while Aldosivi is last, having yet to register a win.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Santiago Lencina and Maximiliano Salas scored first-half goals as River Plate remained top of Group B with a 2-0 home win over San Martin.
In other fixtures, Deportivo Riestra won 1-0 at Talleres Cordoba, and Defensa y Justicia clinched a 2-1 home victory over Belgrano. ■
