BUENOS AIRES, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Belgrano moved to the top of Argentina's Primera Division Clausura standings on Saturday with a 3-0 away win over Huracan in their season opener.

Franco Jara and Lucas Zelarayan netted either side of halftime before Lucas Passerini completed the rout with a stoppage-time penalty.

Despite having 67 percent of the possession, Huracan rarely threatened in attack and only managed one shot on goal.

"We defended a little low at times but we had them under control and we know that at some point we were going to break them," Belgrano manager Ricardo Zielinski said.

"The idea was to have more of the ball and while there are areas where we know we need to improve, it was a good collective performance. The most important thing is that we were able to overcome a good opponent."

Meanwhile, Angel Di Maria scored on his return to Argentine football as Rosario Central were held to a 1-1 home draw with 10-man Godoy Cruz.

Di Maria, who rejoined his boyhood club during the week, gave Rosario Central the lead by converting a 78th-minute penalty before limping off in the 89th minute with an apparent ankle injury.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 91st minute when Daniel Barrea was shown a second yellow card for a bad challenge.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, the Mendoza outfit equalized through Vicente Poggi's 95th-minute strike.

Elsewhere in Argentina's top flight on Saturday, Barracas Central won 1-0 at Racing Club and Instituto Cordoba prevailed 1-0 at Gimnasia. ■
