Swiatek beats Anisimova to claim maiden Wimbledon title

LONDON, July 12 (Xinhua) -- No. 8 seed Iga Swiatek of Poland captured her first Wimbledon crown, beating Amanda Anisimova of the United States 6-0, 6-0 in Saturday's women's singles final.

Swiatek, 24, who has five other Grand Slam singles titles, was playing in her first Wimbledon final, and added the grass-court Grand Slam to her 2022 US Open and four French Open titles.

With the victory, Swiatek is set to rise to third place in the world rankings.
